Text Box: Did you know ?

Based on an IMI International survey over 75% of consumers purchased a product AFTER experiencing, sampling or trying it out for themselves.

According to a PROMO Magazine survey, the top 3 goals for sponsoring or hosting an event were to 1) boost sales, 2) increase brand awareness and 3) capture/increase market share.

An MPI study found that event marketing ranked second only to direct marketing in perceived Return on Investment (ROI) and was ranked higher than advertising.

Further studies in both the US and UK show that traditional print and broadcast advertising is giving way to event marketing.

Even in the current economical down turn, Event Marketing and Sponsorship budgets are being maintained while others are slashed. Successful businesses have learned they get the biggest return on their dollar with interactive marketing tools.

Today’s consumers are sceptical consumers who are tired of being bombarded by ads that stretch and distort the truth. They want to feel appreciated for parting with their hard earned money on your product or service. Event marketing helps to build a trust factor between the customer and the business

Event Marketing . . .

Is defined as a gathering of people to reward, recognize, educate, inform or influence those in attendance

Provides face to face contact with consumers that instantly increases brand awareness and gives real-time sampling opportunities

Is a hands on experiential opportunity for consumers which in turn provides immediate feedback to the business

Offers personalized contact and direct interactions that are proven to boost consumer faith in a brand, product or service.

Cause marketing or event sponsorship is the number one event marketing tool used to increase exposure and brand awareness.

How can you use Event Marketing in your business ?

Host a “Grand Opening” or “Anniversary” event filled with fun activities that will bring your customers to your location. Having customers on site produces immediate sales opportunities not available with a plain old newspaper ad.

Sponsor a sports tournament or other “entertainment” event but don’t limit your involvement to simple ads in programs or your logo on sponsor banners. Get involved on site ! ! Insist on opportunities that allow you to interact with the attendees.

Host an event that will generate funds for your favourite charity or non-profit organization. Cause Events show your consumers that you care about them and the community at large. While raising funds for a good cause you also increase the exposure of your business.

Own a small business with only a few employees? Host an employee recognition event where your staff can invite family and friends to see that they are appreciated by the company they work for. This type of event provides you with an employee motivational tool while also giving you an opportunity to interact with potential customers.
